Individual Psychotherapy
Dr. Ennis provides evidence-based treatment to adults with a range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), low self-esteem, and difficulty managing emotions and life transitions. She primarily uses Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies focus on understanding and changing the way you talk to yourself, behave and approach difficult feelings. She also brings in other approaches when needed such as emotional regulation strategies and mindfulness-based techniques.
For individual psychotherapy, typically, Dr. Ennis will meet with clients for an initial intake assessment to learn more about their history, strengths, and what’s bringing them to therapy. She works collaboratively with clients to set realistic and meaningful treatment goals. Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes.

Couples Therapy
Dr. Ennis provides therapy to couples with a range of concerns including communication problems, high conflict, infidelity and challenges with life transitions and value differences. She also provides Cognitive Behavioural Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) for PTSD to couples in which one partner experiences traumatic stress.
Dr. Ennis works with couples across the adult lifespan and from diverse backgrounds, including married, co-habitating and separating couples. Her practice is 2SLGBTQ+ affirmative. Her approach to couples therapy is primarily cognitive, behavioural and emotion-focused. This means she works with couples to understand their individual and relationship history, including strengths and challenges they face as a couple and individuals. She will work with couples to explore the way they interact with each other to help them learn new ways of communicating and understanding each other. She aims to empower couples to change behaviours when needed, and importantly to work towards acceptance and emotional understanding where change is not possible. Sessions are typically 90 minutes.

Psychological Assessment
Dr. Ennis provides psychodiagnostic assessments for the purposes of diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. For assessments, typically clients complete a series of self-report measures and a clinical interview. Assessments may take 1-3 sessions and can be booked for 60-90 minutes.
